BLOGHow to get people to respond to your social media posts

It doesn’t matter which social media platform you favor, they all are playing the same games. You can have as many followers as you want. However, you will have less reach to them than ever before. How is that fair? You can’t even send out content to people who have voluntarily followed your page? That really doesn’t make sense and it’s something that’s aggravating business owners around the country.

So, besides giving these social media sites your money, what can you do to increase viewership and engagement of your posts? Keep something in mind, if someone likes or comments on your post frequently, they will see other things you post because the social media sites they use identify them as someone who is interested in your content.

That means the trick to increasing organic viewership of your profiles and posts is to post things that inspire engagement. Easier said than done but there are some things you can do that will help you to accomplish this. Let’s start with the type of content you are posting.

Are you trying to drive sales with your posts? Probably not a good idea unless you do it once a week or twice a month. People will eventually tune out your content if they only see that you are posting sales and promotional posts. Try to give your followers something they could be interested in. For example, blogs are great because you can write on topics that provide helpful information and it drives people to your site.

If you are an insurance agent, a great blog to post would be 10 ways to trim your insurance costs this year. That type of title would grab everyone’s attention and get traffic to your site. Remember to also use hashtags or talk about trending topics. If you write about something that’s trending, social media sites will share your content more people they think that it’s relevant and something their users would want to view.

Videos are great but again, do not go promotional. Try giving people information that helps them like DIY topics and so forth. They will appreciate it and share it with their friends and family. The better your content, the more engagement you will see.
